As one of the first hospitals in the United States to open a fully computerized operating room, Stanford Health Care - ValleyCare continues to expand and revolutionize inpatient and outpatient surgical care. ValleyCare offers a full range of surgical services at both the Pleasanton and Livermore medical campuses that includes advanced minimally invasive surgeries. Among the many procedures performed by our general and specialty surgeons are gastroenterological, gynecological, vascular, urological, cardiac, bariatric and orthopedic surgeries.
Minimally Invasive Surgery
Our highly skilled surgeons are on the technological forefront in minimally invasive surgery by pioneering new and advanced techniques in videoscopic procedures. This type of surgery uses miniature scopes and instruments that are inserted through a few tiny incisions. Surgeons view the procedure on a monitor that receives images from a small camera or scope inserted into the body. The refined optics of the scopes provides surgeons with minutely detailed images of the anatomy. Depending upon the type of surgery, minimally invasive techniques can be used for both inpatient and outpatient surgery and often produce better outcomes for patients.
Many surgical procedures can be performed on an outpatient basis, which means your stay is less than 23 hours. ValleyCare offers outpatient surgery at both the Pleasanton and Livermore medical campuses. Our outpatient surgery facilities are equipped with the latest surgical instruments and equipment and staffed by registered nurses with specialized operating room certification. Our highly skilled surgeons perform both outpatient and inpatient surgery.
