Good nutrition can accelerate healing, boost your immune system and improve your overall health. Stanford Health Care - ValleyCare is proud to offer Meal Service at Your Request (room service). Menu items are designed to satisfy your appetite and bring comfort to your stay. Room service allows you to order what you want when you want it.
Once you feel you are ready to celebrate the birth of your child, our Food and Nutrition Services will prepare for you a special four-course meal brought to your room to share with your spouse or significant other.
Although family and friends may be eager to visit you and your new baby, our visiting policies are designed with your needs and comfort in mind. Visiting hours in the Maternal/Child Department are from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. except during the labor period. The baby's father/labor coach is welcome to be with you at any time. In order to protect our patients, visitors who show signs of cold, cough, or other illness will not be allowed to enter the Maternal Child department.
Our goal during your stay is to provide a safe and comfortable experience as well as prepare you and your baby for discharge.
Hospital discharge time is at 11 a.m. Both mom and baby will be seen by their doctors the morning of discharge. Final discharge instructions will be completed by your nurse.
Please read the instructions for your infant car seat and have it assembled and ready to use before being discharged home. Should you have any concerns about your infant car seat installation, contact your local police department, call 866.SEAT.CHECK or visit www.seatcheck.org.
